The Greater Atlantic City Golf Association, located at 331 Tilton Road in Northfield, is dedicated to providing the best golfing experience. The world-famous Steel Pier, which stretches over the ocean at I000 Boardwalk at Virginia Avenue, has been amusing millions of visitors for more than 100 years. The Sea Life Museum, in nearby Brigantine, boasts a museum displaying all types of marine life from sea turtles to giant fish. The Absecon Lighthouse, located at Rhode Island and Pacific avenues, was originally built in 1857 as a beacon of light for sailors. Reopened after a $3 million makeover, the 228-step lighthouse offers a dynamic view of the Atlantic Ocean, Atlantic City's darling skyline and the Back Bay area. The Atlantic City Historical Museum, at the Boardwalk and New Jersey Avenue on beautiful Garden Pier, features the Mr. Peanut costume, Miss America memorabilia and a continuous film called "Boardwalk Ballyhoo," which documents Atlantic City's colorful story. The Florence Valore Miller Art Center, Boardwalk at New Jersey Avenue on Garden Pier, houses three galleries with different art shows each month. Only minutes away from Atlantic City in Galloway Township, the quaint Historic Towne of Smithville is surrounded by cobblestone walkways and beautiful Lake Meone. Historic Batsto Village, in Hammonton, is the site of a former bog iron and glassmaking industrial center. The Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts, at 1048 Washington Street in Cape May, offers year-round tours and activities. Three area wineries area, including the Balic, Renault and Tomasello's offer tours, wine sampling and a chance to purchase your favorite spirits.
