Although
Atlantic City does not have as many poker rooms as Las Vegas or
California, there is still considerable action to be had. Whether your
game is stud, draw, Omaha, or Texas Hold 'Em, there's a place to play in
Atlantic City.
#1 The Tropicana
Offers a great variety of games and limits.
They have food service to the tables and the room is cozy and filled with
televisions. There are
definitely regulars at this place, but not that many professionals. They also run
tournaments during the week and have a special tournament for frequent players.
There's a free Hold 'Em tournament on the last Saturday of the month.
# 2 Taj Mahal
Most big players prefer the Taj Mahal because it is
where the real action is. This is classic poker. The room is glitzy and adds to the
elegant tradition of poker. There is always a good game at the Taj. High limit here is the
best. This room was featured in the feature film "Rounders," starring Matt Damon
and Edward Norton. In mid afternoon they give away free hot dogs. Don't
over do it, or you'll be reaching for the Rolaids before you hit your big
hand.
