Located at the prestigious address of
Boardwalk and Park Place in Atlantic City, the Claridge Casino Hotel is
the smallest, most intimate resort in town. An expanded version of the
original hotel built in 1930, the property features three floors of
casino gaming, a variety of restaurants, lounges, guest rooms, a
theater, health spa and other amenities.
The hotel’s exterior has remained
basically unchanged, providing a distinct appearance when compared to
the glitzy neon flash of the other casinos along the Pacific Avenue
Strip. The resort’s interior also is absent of the garish colors
commonly seen in the other gaming facilities.
Spread
out across three floors of gaming, the casino inside the Claridge is
well lit and offers attentive, usually friendly service. Although the
actual casino is only roughly 59,000 square feet, there are still more
than 1,700 slot machines available. The slot machine denomination range
varies from nickel slots all the way up to $25 a pull. There are 64
table games numerically divided into 32 Blackjack tables, 5 Roulette, 1
Big Six, 8 Craps, 1 Mini-Craps, 2 Baccarat, 3 Mini Baccarat, 3 Pai Gow
Poker, 2 Pai Gow Tile, 3 Caribbean Stud Poker, 2 Let it Ride and 2
Spanish 21 tables.
The Claridge also offers the game
Surrender, a variation of the basic game of Blackjack, as well as
Multiple Action Blackjack, which offers three times the action for your
money. In this version players are allowed to play three rounds of
Blackjack with a single hand against the dealers first card.
The resort has 506 hotel rooms, including
26 suites with Jacuzzis, 28 two-bedroom suites and five executive
suites. The resort also provides headline entertainment in the Palace
Theater, which seats approximately 550. In addition, there are three
lounges in the Claridge: Twenties, located on the 6th
floor (closed Wednesdays and Thursdays), Martino’s, located on
the 3rd floor (closed Mondays and Tuesdays) and Lucky’s,
which is open 24 hours. This lounge also features six bar-top Joker
Poker video machines.
The 8th floor recreation area
features a glass-enclosed swimming pool, a coed cardiovascular room and
health spa with steam and sauna rooms, universal exercise equipment, a
suntan salon and whirlpools. Also on the 8th floor is the
Primary Colors beauty salon.
The Claridge offers a 900-space
self-parking garage, which is connected directly to the building,
alleviating the search for the skywalk, etc. Valet parking is also
available.
